honestly m will just go 'i thought u didnt drink' if he sees him doing it. if noct comes to him first m will be more tactful bc that means its Important. but he has no clue how interventions or addictions work, he saw people with those problems when he was homeless but it was v v distant from him

Given the way in which Hei drinks in canon, even if Noctis doesn't know he has a history with it he'll probably get the sense that something is off. A) Hei's a controlled reserved guy and that stands out and B) no one chugs booze on that level alone unless something is not okay. So he might mention it to M if he witnesses it and then they can put the puzzle pieces together with the extra info M has.
