The plot currently happening is taking place in the turbulence of revolutionary Paris. Now that you're all here, we're going to start doing 'update' posts giving you an idea of what's going in in Paris, that your characters can react to with logs and network posts. We'll also have some plotting options going up today.

GAME GOALS: Fucking with people, character development, the true spirit of COSTmas making her heart grow three sizes. Prelati's a villain in canon who did a heroic sacrifice like five seconds before the 'sacrifice' part of that kicked in, so I'd like to actually develop her into more of a decent person. Relatively speaking.

PLOT PLANS: She will develop a plan to contain the crows. Also, messing with her roommate. Also, lots of library research, probably at all hours of the day. Her roommate might not actually see her sleeping that much. Or at all.

DESIRED CR:

1) Heroic types for her to tease.
2) Denser people for her to tease.

For real though, I'm up for all types of CR - Prelati's in kind of an inbetween phase when it comes to being a villain versus being a... well, not exactly a hero, but a less bad person. So she bounces well off most types of characters, since she's a little interested in expanding her horizons at the moment. Just expect her to be snide. She's grumpy, old (in spirit), well-read, and likes feeling like she knows more than the person she's talking to. So, uh, antagonistic CR is fairly likely, but she's more just condescending than outright insulting, so she could actually take up a mentor/teacher type role pretty well. Considering how Saint-Germain was her teacher in canon, that'd honestly be an interesting development. So if anyone wants life lessons with a murderer, HMU.

I also like pretty much anything that involves debating morality. Prelati is very much against anything that involves one person having something over another person, but she's a little shakier on the whole 'killing people' thing, so obviously she'd clash with a lot of people on the subject. But she is actually questioning things, despite how stubborn she can be, so a good debate could lead to some actual development on her part.

GAME GOALS: midnighter is shit at maintaining relationships of any kind, he has a bad habit of letting them fall to the wayside. i definitely want to try and have him get some sort of... consistency? out of the world. also, he knows shitall about history. also, he is technically a superhero.

PLOT PLANS: peanut butter.

DESIRED CR: look, midnighter is dick. like. he's combattive for no reason, pointlessly confrontational, and overly fond of physical and emotional intimidation. he also likes flirting, often as a way to try and dominate other men or make them uncomfortable (he's gay, honey). he is a fighter, and he will fight anyone, and he percieves almost everything as some kind of battle to be lost or won. so negative or frenemies cr is easy as balls to get with this dick.

that said: he has a secret soft spot for kids and young people in general, and really empathizes with people who have been 'wronged' in some way. he might be some grimdark punch robot, but at the end of the day he's still a superhero and deeply believes in justice and retribution.

She's going to rub her face on it. Maybe pick some flowers? eat an entire greasy pizza? maybe murder a dude. She;s going to be as tough as a vault hunter!!!!!

After she deals with the shitty withdrawal from the drug problem from hell.

PLOT PLANS:

- Training, Angel wants to get good, and she wants to get hard. She knows what she should be, a goddamn murder machine that is feared and she is sick of being in the back rooms of life. So she's going to be throwing herself at it no matter how much it hurts. She's not leaning towards the cannibal psychos of Pandora but she wants to be a force to be wreckoned with.
- Trying to people: she hasn't needed to eat, drink, sleep or face to face interact with other human beings for years and she's keen to try it all. Get drunk under a table? Lets try that. Put flowers in each other hair? Also good.
- She isn't here to judge. Angel comes from Pandora and has killed a fair few people herself thanks to exploding mind powers. But given her father is Handsome Jack... the rest is, well. It's hard to be worse than he is, so she will endeavor to be as good as she can be.
- Ignore the fuck that she was all ready and set To Die.
- Test out her powers on people, to various levels of injury. Sirens in the borderlands canon can range from small house fires to nuclear explosions and she never really got a handle on hers in a sensible way thanks to being dosed to death on super juice, and a lot of them are passive. She's gunna want to work on harnessing it on something more direct. But there is a chance your character will get hurt.

DESIRED CR:
- In lieu of saying anything, Angel can and will stick her nose into anything that looks like she can.
- Friends, like honestly, she wants friends but she doesn't know how to do that given she's a shitty little manipulator.
- People to call her on the aforemention manipulation
- Do u like tech, she likes tech. Let her put her brain into ur tech and have fun with it.

GAME GOALS: Jon is experienced… but maybe not as experienced as he needs to be to go up against the Army of the Dead once and for all in canon (I mean: they have a wight dragon now and everything was already terrible before that), so he'd be interested in picking up new tactics, strategies, and fighting styles. He's a kind, humble, passionate, and skilled dude who also suffers from some flares of temper. Right now, he feels bad about France and is ambivalent about his place in COST.

PLOT PLANS: Since this coming month isn't a plotty month, and since he spent a lot of the time he was in Paris on assignment, it's a good time to make new CR and to actually go to Leg Day.

DESIRED CR:
- Old CR, new CR, allies, annoyances, etc. If they've been chatting on the network, they should hang out in person!
- People who can teach him about modern weaponry and help him get used to using it. Guns aren't his thing, and they sort of need to become his thing.
- People who want to learn medieval fighting styles. Jon is a skilled swordsman and a good teacher (albeit kind of a hardass).
- People who like to talk about leadership/kingship or power or zombies or honor or other worlds or basically anything that might engage both parties in conversation.

DESIRED CR: As a superficial starting point for CR, easy avenues are: random network banter, other people from modern times to bond over things they miss, people who aren't sure why the hell they were chosen for this, drinking buddies, ill-advised one-night stands. I'd love for her to develop some real friendships too, and maybe people to push her toward being a hero (or toward her darker instincts, whatevs!) but I'm planning to wait and see who clicks and let that happen organically.

But it'll take a while for her to actually be anything resembling okay with not having a divide between "Supergirl" and "Kara." Not that she cares to maintain much of a façade anymore regarding maintaining a human lifestyle, but. It's the lack of anonymity that's going to rattle her. And then there's the fact that repeated attempts to "have it all" (work/life balance) have failed spectacularly for her and now, she really doesn't want to connect with humanity except to save it.

I definitely want her to work on that, through interacting with all sorts of characters.

PLOT PLANS: I need to read up on what's gone on so far in France, but Kara is great for anything but stealth. She really sucks at it. Other than that, I just want her involved! She's got other ways to help gather intel and fight the good fight.

DESIRED CR: FRIENDS, PLEASE. Human friends, even! Or rivals, enemies, frenemies, mentors, found-family —this girl has no one here atm, so I'm good with everything.

PLANS/GOALS: Morrigan's been given the worldstate that hurts her the most so I can enjoy her ongoing struggle to trust and care about people when she would like nothing more than to lick her wounds and rely only on herself. Right now she's pretty detached from everything because she doesn't recall joining COST, feels she has no real proof that she needs to be personally involved at all, and she's getting a little tired of Earth. Something'll win her over to the cause eventually, I assume! Developing meaningful relationships will probably also help.

DESIRED CR: It's easy for Morrigan to be detached, unimpressed, or blatantly mean, and I want her to learn to trust others. I like dynamics that have push and pull, especially when there's something about the characters that lets them challenge each other a little. Give me lingering impressions, trust-building, the development of in-jokes, misunderstandings or resentments, etc. I also enjoy cooperative action threads and mutual ass-saving is usually a good way to get positive-slanted cr out of Morrigan, so getting a few steady battle buddies'll be great. Related to that, it'd be cool for her to specifically have a sparring buddy who isn't magical. She can help them learn to deal with magic since theoretically there may be a need someday, and they can help her with nonmagical combat instincts in case there's a time when she can't rely on spells.

Apparently she's got a roommate this month and I'm hoping for awkward cr with her roomie, maybe less awkward cr with her neighbors on the base, and cr with anyone who'll be exploring as thoroughly as she will. This'll be the most scifi environment she's ever been in. And, uh, she's got an unborn child in a cryotube somewhere so if someone stumbles across that they can always bring it up.

GAME GOALS: To set things right. Also? To look dashing. That's Dorian's goal no matter where he is and what he's doing. His goals will likely change, but these are his baseline goals!

PLOT PLANS: To bring history to heel so that he can mold it to fit in line with his philosophical sense of beauty and taste? Or if he can find a couturier talented enough to bring silk and metal together in an ensemble worthy of him? I mean priorities. Seriously, though, he doesn't know what he's doing yet.

DESIRED CR: Can you take shit? Can you dish it out? Then you have a banter buddy in Dorian! Seriously Dorian will take all of you into his half-way home, he'll give you fashion game and once he's done with you you'll be at level 800 in style.

He can always use drinking buddies if you can keep up with him

Positive CR. He's charming. He's very charming. He's the most charming. If you like to banter and flirt an drink and gamble then it is very easy to built positive CR with Dorian. He's very slow to anger.

Negative CR. This is very possible with Dorian. He's a rich elitist who comes from a country where slavery is the norm and he is just now understanding that this is kind of a bad thing. He can be very sassy and sharp, especially if he's being judged on preconceived notions...granted he does quite a bit of assuming himself.



He is a mage as well, how does that tickle your fancy? He's not opposed to being your backup either and violence doesn't really bother him, unless it is undue violence or, you know, Tranquility. He'll burn someone's face off or freeze their head in a block of ice. Let's be creative!

Dorian is a mage and as a mage he specializes in Necromancy. Necromancy has totally different implications in Dragon Age, but if the thought creeps you out you might want to look into it. NECROMANCER

CR MINGLE LOG - A FEAST

Would anyone be interested in having an IC mingle log (feast-themed) being posted in the middle of December?

I was thinking of having Achilles making a suggestion (over the network) that everyone gather together and celebrate their mission failure! I think we don't have much food on the ship, but everyone can pitch in and bring some shitty space food.

So what I need in order to make this happen is...

- a vote on what time of the month would work best for people (mods included, in case there are any surprise plots coming up)
- IC volunteers
- ideas... like should we have a greek-themed party (links ARE sfw)?
- The links are a joke, there won't be orgies
- Or will there
- No, there won't be any orgies, just a lot of wine if the characters can get their hands on any

Aside from the base log coming up, I thought this would be a fun way for characters to get together and have fun! Achilles would suggest everyone play games that celebrate competition, like arm-wrestling and chicken fights.

But I'd absolutely love to do this! I'm a sucker for holiday logs regardless, but I also think it'd be a good way for characters to meet each other in a slightly more relaxed environment. The best way to make friends is absolutely fighting with/alongside them but parties aren't bad either.

Aloy wouldn't actually volunteer since she's a stick in the mud, but I'm interested OOC, so if someone wants to gently bully her into helping, I'm down!
